Class Action & Group Litigation

There is strength in numbers. I often represent large groups of people in a working or community context to help create change. This may be in a class action, where one or a few people speak with me for a much larger group of hundreds or thousands of people.  At times, this may be in a series of related cases where I represent dozens or hundreds of people about the same issue, but each person has their own unique claim.

In either case, taking action as a group can help support claims by providing corroboration of evidence, additional sources of information, and a collective claim value that all but requires the other side to agree to a reasonable resolution.

I have worked with class action and group representation to address issues with:

  • Company-Wide Wage Theft
  • Widespread Employer Discrimination
  • “Business Opportunity” Fraud
  • Dangerous Medical Devices or Drugs
  • Landlord Abuse of Communities of Tenants
  • Widespread Privacy Rights Violations
  • Misleading Marketing Concerning Consumer Goods
  • Disaster Claims Arising from Gross Corporate Negligence
  • Disability Access Discrimination Affecting Social Services, Neighborhoods, or Alternative Housing Communities

Companies often resist class action and group representation by demanding that employees and customers enter into arbitration agreements. Thanks to pro-business rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court, companies can often block attempts at collective action in court. Some lawyers see this as the end of the road for a case. However, in my practice I bring together large groups of harmed people together to engage in “serial arbitration.” Since companies may have to pay thousands of dollars for every arbitration, they start to back down when we get dozens or hundreds of people together all at once. If you have been done wrong and other lawyers told you they could not help because you signed an arbitration clause, reach out to me. There is a good chance I can still help you.

There is no cost to you to consult with me about your case. When I take a matter on, I do not charge you out of pocket. When we win a case, I am paid a portion out of the winnings, and your employer has to contribute to cover my attorney fees. I will never charge you any fee that requires you to pay me out of your own pocket.

If you and others have been hurt by corporate or governmental wrongdoing, but you are not sure if you can take action by yourself, please feel free to contact me to see how I can help.
